Vacancy for a LOCUM PHARMACIST  at a Clinic in Abuja

• Location: Maitama, Abuja 
• Job Type: Locum (May be an on-going contract if needed)
• Duration: 6 weeks (Effective February 3rd 2025)
• Work Hours: 4 days a week (8hours daily with 1 hour unpaid break time)
• Reports to : Medical Director

 

Job Description

• To prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
• To dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labelling pharmaceuticals.
• Controls medications by monitoring drug prescription and therapies; advising interventions.
• Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing work flow at all times; verifying their preparation and   labelling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
• To provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counselling patients on drug therapies.
• Ordering and purchasing pharmaceutical supplies and ensuring on time deliveries.
• Maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly.
• Analysing prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions
• Ensure compliance with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspections; maintaining records for controlled  substances; removing out-dated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support personnel; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions.
• Protects patients and pharmacy staff by adhering to infection-control protocols.
• Prepares monthly drug/stock analyses for management decision making
• Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• B.Pharm from a reputable University
• At least one year experience in a Hospital Pharmacy
• Completion of NYSC or NYSC in progress
• Available immediately
