The Oko Medical Centre, operating under the supervision of the Thomas Adewumi University Teaching Hospital, provides healthcare services to staff and students of Thomas Adewumi University, Thomas Adewumi International College, and members of the Oko community as well as neighbouring towns and villages.
Established in 2005, the Centre is a 27-bed facility, fully equipped with essential infrastructure to deliver quality primary healthcare services.
We are looking to appoint an intelligent, dedicated, and capable Medical Officer as team leader. The ideal candidate must be able to work with minimum supervision and deliver high-quality healthcare in a semi-rural environment.

Job Title: Senior Medical Doctor

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The appointed Medical Doctor will be responsible for the provision of Primary Care services, including but not limited to:
- Attending to emergencies and providing resuscitation, stabilisation, and referral as necessary.
- Assessing the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, examination, and investigations.
- Performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including prescribing medications, minor surgery, counseling, psychological interventions, and patient education.
- Referring patients for diagnostic, therapeutic, and supportive services as required.
- Performing other related medical services as may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Requirements
- MBBS (or equivalent medical qualification).
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- A minimum of six (6) years post-qualification working experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency and practical experience in healthcare delivery, minor surgical procedures, and patient management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership qualities.
Benefits
- Salary: Negotiable, but not less than an annual gross salary of N7,200,000 (N600,000 per month).
- Extra Duty Allowance: N100,000 annually for service in a rural location.
- Surgical Allowance: N25,000 for every successful surgery performed.
- Accommodation: A partially furnished two-bedroom flat is provided (excluding soft furnishings such as beddings, cutlery, and kitchen equipment). Employees are responsible for electricity and personal utilities.
