INFORMATION TO GRADUANDS
All 2018/2019 graduation students are advised to check their names and convocation requirements on the University website: www.unimed.edu.ng. Graduands are to report on campus on Tuesday 10th December 2019 to attend the convocation lecture which holds on Thursday 12th December 2019 at 10am, and to participate fully in a dress rehearsal of the graduands procession which will take place at 5pm on the same day. Graduands who fail to attend the rehearsal and the convocation lecture will not be allowed to participate in the procession on the convocation day.
Please note that it is compulsory for all graduands to attend the convocation ceremony. However, those who may not be able to attend for any reason are expected to give the Registrar prior notice and obtain permission from him. Graduands who participate in the convocation lecture, rehearsal, and procession will collect their certificates immediately after the convocation ceremony. Those who fail to do so without obtaining permission from the registrar, apart from paying a certificate collection fee of N10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira) as penalty, will only be issued certificate three month after the convocation day. We therefore strongly recommend that all grduands attend the convocation to personally receive their certificates on the day of graduation.
All graduands are expected to participate unfailingly in the section on interaction with industry partners, and the launch of the UNIMED Alumni Association, and Graduate Tracer system which will take place on November 28, 2019 at 10am prompt.
All graduands are expected to collect two invitation cards for their parents or guardians on or before 10th December 2019 at the University Registry.
All graduands are expected to dress formally, decently and corporately.
Collection of Academic gowns will commence on Tuesday, 10th December 2019 at the University Registry on presentation of Convocation clearance, after showing evidence of payment of N2,000 rental fee to the university’s account. The gowns must be returned on or before 4pm Saturday, 14th December 2019, failing which a penalty fee of N4,000 per day will be paid by any defaulting student.
The university congratulates the graduands and their parents for this milestone event of being the first Graduates in the first University of Medical Science in Nigeria.
