The Association for Reproductive and family health (ARFH) is pleased to announce a request for proposals for its research grants to support the scale up interventions for improving overall Tuberculosis (TB) case detection and retention through innovative approaches including active TB case search
The primary objectives of this project are to provide an understanding of innovative strategies, interventions and machanisms and how they can be deployed to improve TB diagnosis, case notification and treatment outcomes.
The research will also provide in depth knowledge on factors (barriers and enables) that can be ameliorate to address the burden of TB especially among key populations. The impact of socio-cultural, psychological and demographic factors and other external factors affecting TB service utilization and case detection, will be of benefit to justify change of policy or program design

Receipients of this research grant are expected to produce a publishable manuscript and complete a data use plan
Eligiblity
Eligible candidates include:
- State TB Programs
- Academic institutions or centers
- Non profit and for profit resarch organizations
- Parastatals
- Individual researchers
- Research- focused NGOs or firms
Individual reserchers are also encourgaed to apply for this funding opportunity. All candidates must have good understanding of the country context and demonstrate familiarity with the global fund supported tuberculosis grant in Nigera. Candidates must demonstrate competency in supporting country's research capacity and/or data use.
Research Grant Awards
The research budget amount is intended to cover basic research expenses for the duration of research as per approved timeline. Anticipated data use and dissemination activities should be included in the proposed budget. Travel to international conference to present the research findings may not be requested.
Funds will be paid in three installments: at the onset of the proposed study, after receipt of the first draft of a research report, and after completion of the final research manuscript pater and other products related to data dissemination and use.
NOTE: Not more than one research grant will be awarded per organization
Full research proposals are due by November 8th 2016. Applications received after this date will not be accepted. All candidates will be notified b November 20th November 2016. Selected candidates will be required to submit proof os institutional or country ethics review and approval or exemption
