On behalf of the Registry, I welcome you into the second half of 2017. It has indeed been a very eventful first half. Following a careful appraisal of our activities so far, i would like to commend the management and staff of PCN in all our offices across the country for a job well done. We are well on course to deliver on our 2017 performance objectives and we stand chance of exceeding them. We however, continually seek the support, prayers and cooperation of all colleagues to help ensure we deliver on our 4 point agenda
The PCN enforcement team visited bauchi state in the month of June. A total of 231 premises were visited during the exercise. At the end of the exercise, 212 patent medicine shops were sealed while 6 arrests were made for sales of controlled substances. With this achievement a total of 1448 shops premises have so far been visited in 2017 with 1052 patent medicine stores sealed and 105 illegal pharmacies sealed. It is important to state here that the PCN secored another landmark judgement against the National association of patent and proprietary medicine dealers (NAPPMED) in a federal high court in kaduna in the month of june
As at end of June 1086 new pharmacists had been aded to the ranks of pharmacists this year. This number includes the 37 foreign pharmacy graduates who were recently inducted at PCN headquartersin the month of june

The PCN also signed a memorandum of understaning with PSN/PACFAN to expand access to family planing in nigeria as well as met with howard university global intiative in nigeria on expanding access to ARV's through commuity pharmacists respectively
Our active manpower development plan for management and staff of the PCN continued in the month of june with an intensive training program for pharmaceutical inspections from the north central zone and FCT which was held in Nasarawa state. The training will be replicated in all geopolitical zones very shortly
I would like to thank the PCN branch of Medical and Health workers union of Nigeria for the honour bestowed on me as a labour friendly CEO. The award the labour union said was deliberately given on june 12 to coincide with the day i assumed office as the registrar of the PCN in 2014
As we begin the second half of this year, i once again restate my unwavering comitment to the repositioning the practice of pharmacy from where it currently is, to the enviable heights where it truly belongs
Yours in Service
Elijah Mohammed
